Western Wyoming vs Laramie County
Preview: Western Wyoming Mustangs at Laramie County Golden Eagles
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Interstat) — A high-scoring rematch is on tap Thursday when the Laramie County Golden Eagles host the Western Wyoming Mustangs in a men’s junior college basketball game.
The Golden Eagles (12-11) won the first meeting this season, 76-67, on Jan. 31 in Rock Springs. Both teams feature one of the region’s most dynamic individual matchups in Laramie County’s TJ Coulter and Western Wyoming’s Paulius Narvilas.
Coulter has been on a historic scoring tear for the Golden Eagles. The guard is averaging 34.8 points over his last five games, including a 44-point performance in a 107-104 overtime loss at Eastern Wyoming on Feb. 11. He scored 27 points in the January win over Western Wyoming.
Narvilas, a forward for the Mustangs (7-12), has been a rebounding force, recording double-doubles in three of his last four full games. He is coming off a 30-point, 16-rebound effort in a 90-82 loss at Casper on Feb. 14. His role was limited to one minute in the first meeting with Laramie County, making his impact this time a key variable.
Western Wyoming seeks to break a two-game skid and improve its road form. Beyond Narvilas, Caelum Harris (12 points, 11 rebounds vs. Casper) provides interior support.
Laramie County looks to rebound from its overtime shootout loss and protect its home court. Coulter’s backcourt running mate Aeremiah Binford adds a double-double threat, posting 20 points and 11 rebounds in the last outing.
The Golden Eagles have won three of their last five, while the Mustangs have struggled for consistency, going 2-3 in the same stretch. Laramie County’s offensive firepower, averaging over 90 points in its last two games, will test a Western Wyoming defense that has allowed 82 or more points in three consecutive contests.
Tipoff is set for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026.
