Preview: Northern Oklahoma-Enid Jets at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa Mavericks

TONKAWA, Okla. (Interstat) — Two Oklahoma junior college men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Thursday when the Northern Oklahoma-Enid Jets visit the Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa Mavericks.

Both teams enter the contest on losing streaks. The Jets (9-9) have dropped four consecutive games, including a 64-68 home loss to Western Oklahoma State on Monday. The Mavericks (8-10) are looking to rebound from a 73-89 road defeat against Seminole State (Okla.) on the same night.

The Jets won the previous meeting this season, 64-57 at home on Jan. 20.

Northern Oklahoma-Enid will rely on forward Darian Grant, who has been a consistent scoring threat. Grant is coming off a 21-point, 8-rebound performance in the loss to Western Oklahoma State. In his last five games, he has averaged 14.2 points and 6.0 rebounds.

Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa counters with guard MJ Miller, who recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 assists in his last outing. His playmaking will be central to the Mavericks’ offense.

Statistically, the matchup appears exceptionally even. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 100-100 tie, underscoring the narrow margins expected between these regional rivals.

The game is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa. Following this contest, the Jets will host Seminole State (Okla.) on Monday. The Mavericks will travel to face Redlands on the same day.
