WADLEY, Ala. (Interstat) — The Wallace State Lions avenged an earlier loss by edging the Southern Union State Bisons 93-89 in a men’s junior college basketball game Thursday night.

Wallace State built a commanding 12-point halftime lead but had to withstand a fierce second-half rally from Southern Union State. The Bisons outscored the Lions by eight points after halftime, yet fell short in the final moments.

The victory improved Wallace State’s season record to 12-10. Southern Union State dropped to 5-17. Khalon Johnson led the Bisons’ effort. The Lions’ win flipped the result from their Jan. 22 meeting, which Southern Union State won.
