Motlow State vs Chattanooga State
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Chattanooga State Tigers will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their standing when they host the Motlow State Bucks in a men’s junior college basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026.
The Tigers (10-5) enter with a superior record and the momentum of a decisive 103-91 victory over the Bucks in Lynchburg, Tennessee, on Jan. 7. In that contest, Chattanooga State’s offense proved overwhelming. Meanwhile, the Bucks (9-9) seek to level their record and avenge that earlier loss, which was part of a recent inconsistent stretch.
Motlow State is coming off a 55-69 road loss to Southwest Tennessee on Feb. 14, a game in which key players, including standout Sagna Ousseynou, saw only a single minute of action. Ousseynou’s recent performances have fluctuated, but his capability was on full display in an 83-51 win over Roane State on Feb. 4, where he recorded 15 rebounds and 3 blocks. His presence inside will be critical against a potent Chattanooga State lineup.
The Tigers, however, are regrouping from a tough 103-68 home loss to Walters State on Feb. 11. Prior to that, they had won three straight, including a narrow 77-74 victory over Southwest Tennessee. Their offense, which eclipsed 100 points in the previous meeting with Motlow, will aim to rediscover its rhythm.
This matchup presents a contrast in trajectories. Chattanooga State has proven more consistent this season and holds the psychological edge from the January win. Motlow State, however, has shown it can compete with top teams, as evidenced by a 68-66 win over Walters State in January. Containing Chattanooga’s high-scoring attack and reigniting Ousseynou’s production are paramount for the Bucks to spring a road upset.
Following this game, Chattanooga State travels to face Dyersburg State on Feb. 21, while Motlow State’s next contest is at Walters State on Feb. 25.
