Kankakee vs Harry S Truman

KANKAKEE, Ill. (Interstat) — A stark contrast in fortunes will be on display Tuesday night when the Kankakee Community College Cavaliers visit the Harry S Truman College Falcons in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

The Cavaliers (12-6) enter riding a wave of momentum, having won five of their last six games, including a 72-64 road victory over Highland on Saturday. Their season has been defined by consistent performance, particularly in a dominant 105-65 win over Wilbur Wright on Feb. 10.

Conversely, the Falcons (2-13) are mired in a difficult season, having lost 10 of their last 11 contests. Their most recent outing was a 106-66 home defeat to Triton on Feb. 12. Truman’s two wins this season came against Wilbur Wright on Dec. 16 and a 79-70 road upset of Highland on Jan. 27.

A player to watch for Kankakee is Santana Flowers. The forward has been a key contributor during the Cavaliers’ successful run, posting strong performances such as a 16-point, 7-rebound effort in a win over Highland on Jan. 24 and a 13-point, 9-rebound game against Richard J. Daley on Jan. 20. His versatility was on full display in a Jan. 28 loss to Indian Hills, where he nearly recorded a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

History heavily favors the visiting Cavaliers. The teams met earlier this season on Dec. 20, with Kankakee delivering a lopsided 105-77 home victory. The Falcons will be seeking to avenge that defeat and find a spark to turn their season around in front of their home crowd.

For Kankakee, this game represents a critical opportunity to solidify its winning record and build confidence before a challenging stretch that includes games against Olive-Harvey, Kennedy-King, and Triton later this month. Truman, meanwhile, looks to harness home-court advantage and disrupt its rival’s rhythm as it prepares for its own upcoming slate against Kennedy-King and Olive-Harvey.

Tip-off is set for Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at Harry S Truman College.
