Coahoma vs Mississippi Gulf Coast
Preview: Coahoma Tigers at Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs
PERKINSTON, Miss. (Interstat) — A surging Coahoma team visits a Mississippi Gulf Coast squad looking to rebound when the men’s junior college basketball rivals meet Monday night.
The Tigers (9-3) have won three of their last four, including an emphatic 80-56 home victory over Pearl River on Saturday. The Bulldogs (14-4), ranked among the state’s top junior college teams, are coming off a 79-64 road loss to Itawamba last Thursday, which snapped a four-game winning streak.
Coahoma’s offense runs through guard Dee Robison, who is coming off a spectacular performance. In the win over Pearl River, Robison scored 26 points and added four assists in just one minute of play, a statistical anomaly that underscores his explosive scoring ability. He has been a consistent catalyst for the Tigers’ attack.
Mississippi Gulf Coast will counter with floor general Duran Parish. The standout guard has recorded a double-double in assists and points in three of his last four outings, including a 29-point, 9-assist effort in an 85-68 win over Mississippi Delta on Feb. 2. His playmaking will be central to the Bulldogs’ game plan.
The matchup presents a contrast in momentum. Coahoma seeks to continue its recent strong form on the road, while Mississippi Gulf Coast aims to defend its home court and regain its footing after its recent setback. The Bulldogs’ overall record and depth present a significant challenge, but the Tigers’ high-scoring capabilities, led by Robison, make them a dangerous opponent.
This contest is the only scheduled meeting between the two teams this regular season. Following this game, Coahoma travels to play Mississippi Delta on Feb. 23. Mississippi Gulf Coast visits Northeast Mississippi on Feb. 19.
Tip-off is set for Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at the Weathers/Wentzell Center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast campus.
