(Interstat) — The Coastal Alabama Sun Chiefs secured a 98-90 men’s junior college basketball victory over the Lawson State Cougars on Monday, February 16, 2026. The win avenged a loss to the Cougars from earlier in the season.

Coastal Alabama built its lead with a high-scoring first half, outlasting Lawson State in a game where both offenses found consistent rhythm. The Sun Chiefs improved their season record to 4-16 with the road win, while the Cougars fell to 5-14. The result defied statistical projections which heavily favored a Lawson State victory.
