Gillette vs Northwest
Preview: Gillette Pronghorns at Northwest Trappers
POWELL, Wyo. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams hovering near .500 will meet Saturday when the Gillette Pronghorns visit the Northwest College Trappers.
The game, scheduled for Feb. 14, 2026, at Northwest College in Powell, features teams with nearly identical records. Gillette enters at 11-10 overall, while Northwest sits at 10-10.
This contest is a rematch of a Jan. 24 thriller, which Northwest won 60-58 in Gillette. In that game, the Trappers’ Braydon Bradshaw contributed 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. The Pronghorns will be looking to avenge that narrow home loss.
Gillette is coming off a 83-76 home loss to Casper on Wednesday. In that game, guard Rashad McCormick shined with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 36 minutes. McCormick, averaging a team-high in the loss, will be a primary focus for the Pronghorns’ offense.
Northwest seeks to rebound from a lopsided 99-63 road loss at Laramie County on Feb. 7. Despite the team’s struggles, Bradshaw provided a bright spot, scoring 16 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in just one minute of play, according to available statistics. His season has been inconsistent, but he posted a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in a Jan. 17 win over Eastern Wyoming.
The Pronghorns have shown resilience in close games, winning two overtime contests in recent weeks. The Trappers have also experienced tight finishes, with an overtime loss on Feb. 5 and an overtime win on Jan. 15.
With both teams jockeying for position in the region standings, Saturday’s matchup offers a crucial opportunity to build momentum for the final stretch of the season. Gillette will rely on McCormick’s scoring punch, while Northwest will look for a more consistent defensive effort and production from Bradshaw to protect its home court.
Following this game, Northwest will host Central Wyoming on Feb. 18, while Gillette’s next contest is at home against Laramie County on Feb. 21.
