Motlow State vs Southwest Tennessee

Motlow State Bucks Look to Extend Winning Streak Against Struggling Southwest Tennessee Salquis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Motlow State Bucks will visit the Southwest Tennessee Salquis in a men’s junior college basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, with the teams trending in opposite directions.

Motlow State (9-8) enters on a high note after a decisive 83-51 victory over Roane State on Feb. 4. The Bucks have won two of their last three games. Southwest Tennessee (1-12) seeks to end a six-game losing streak, most recently falling 93-75 at Walters State on Feb. 9.

The Bucks won the season’s first meeting, 76-67, at home on Dec. 6, 2025.

A key player for Motlow State is Sagna Ousseynou, who dominated in the win over Roane State with 15 rebounds, eight points and three blocks in just one minute of play. Over his last four games, he has averaged 9.5 rebounds. He will be a central figure in the frontcourt battle.

Southwest Tennessee will rely on guard Jeremiah Hayes, who scored 16 points and dished five assists in the loss to Walters State. He has logged heavy minutes in recent contests and is a primary facilitator for the Salquis’ offense.

Despite the Salquis’ record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tightly contested matchup, forecasting a 100-100 final score.

For Motlow State, Xavier Farrell (22 points vs. Roane State) and Colton Wilbanks (13 points, eight rebounds) provide additional scoring punch. Southwest Tennessee’s Eric Jones and Christopher King, who combined for 24 points off the bench last game, offer supporting firepower for Hayes.

Following this contest, Motlow State will travel to face Chattanooga State on Feb. 18. Southwest Tennessee will host Dyersburg State on the same date.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Southwest Tennessee’s home court.
