Hillsborough vs Indian River State

Preview: Hillsborough Hawks at Indian River State Pioneers

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Hillsborough Hawks visit the Indian River State Pioneers.

The game, scheduled for Feb. 14, 2026, features teams with sub-.500 records. Hillsborough enters at 5-9 overall, while Indian River State is 7-10.

The Pioneers arrive with confidence after a dramatic 67-66 road victory over Miami Dade on Wednesday. Sophomore guard Adam Squire powered that win, scoring 29 points and adding 7 rebounds in 39 minutes of action. He will be a primary focus for the Hawks’ defense.

In contrast, Hillsborough is looking to rebound from a 51-63 home loss to Florida Southwestern State on the same night. The Hawks struggled offensively in that contest. Player to watch Manyaka Luma saw only one minute of action.

This matchup is a quick rematch of a Jan. 14 thriller, where Hillsborough edged Indian River State 73-68 in overtime at home. That result gives the Hawks a slight psychological edge in the season series.

Recent form, however, favors the Pioneers. Indian River State has shown offensive firepower, averaging over 80 points per game in its last three outings. Hillsborough’s offense has been inconsistent, failing to reach 55 points in two of its last three games.

Beyond Squire, Indian River State’s Tamiel Green is coming off a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) against Miami Dade. Hillsborough will need increased production from its entire rotation to compete on the road.

A victory would help either team climb the conference standings ahead of a critical final stretch in February. For Indian River State, it’s a chance to build on a signature win and even the season series. For Hillsborough, it’s an opportunity to rediscover its early-January form and sweep the Pioneers.

Tip-off is set for Saturday at Indian River State College.
