Meridian vs Copiah-Lincoln

Struggling Meridian Eagles Face Copiah-Lincoln Wolves in Junior College Matchup

WESSON, Miss. (Interstat) — The Meridian Eagles, mired in a difficult season, will seek a rare win on the road Thursday against the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves in a men’s junior college basketball game.

Meridian (1-12) enters the contest having lost five straight, including a 99-93 home defeat to Northwest Mississippi on Monday. The Eagles’ lone victory this season came against Mississippi Delta on Jan. 20.

Copiah-Lincoln (8-7) looks to rebound at home after a 67-59 road loss to Pearl River on Monday. The Wolves had won their previous two games.

A key matchup will feature Meridian’s Ju’Juan Ray against Copiah-Lincoln’s Morris Hammond. Ray is coming off a standout performance in the loss to Northwest Mississippi, posting 19 points and 12 rebounds. He has been a bright spot for the Eagles’ offense.

Hammond has been a consistent contributor for the Wolves. He scored 13 points in the loss to Pearl River and had nine points in a win over Coahoma on Feb. 7. His versatility will be crucial for the Copiah-Lincoln attack.

The Eagles have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 78.2 points per game during their current losing streak. Containing Hammond and generating offense beyond Ray will be primary challenges. Mario Forbes, who had 11 points and eight rebounds Monday, will need to provide secondary scoring.

The Wolves have shown balance, with players like Koie Williams and Tyrell Bowles providing steady support. Copiah-Lincoln will aim to exploit Meridian’s defensive woes and control the tempo in front of its home crowd.

Tip-off is set for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026. Following this game, Meridian will host Pearl River on Monday, while Copiah-Lincoln travels to face Jones College.
