Collin County vs Temple
Preview: Collin County Cougars at Temple Leopards
TEMPLE, Texas (Interstat) — The Collin County Cougars will look to continue their winning momentum when they visit the Temple College Leopards in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Wednesday night.
The Cougars (11-5) enter on a two-game win streak, most recently defeating Weatherford 73-58 on Saturday. They have won three of their last four contests. The Leopards (6-9) snapped a three-game skid with a 90-79 road victory at Ranger on Saturday.
Collin County won the first meeting this season, 83-76 at home on Jan. 10. In that game, guard David Chong led the Cougars with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists. Chong is coming off a dominant performance against Weatherford, posting 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Over his last five games, he is averaging 15.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
Temple will counter with guard Jonty Kells, who played a full minute in the win over Ranger. In his previous outing, an 86-73 win over Southwestern Christian on Feb. 2, Kells contributed three points, three rebounds and an assist.
The Cougars have shown balance beyond Chong. In the Weatherford win, Kevin Paul added 17 points and Jayden Ramnanan scored 13. Temple’s victory at Ranger featured contributions from Tayshaun Goston and Byron Piper alongside Kells.
Collin County’s recent form has been stronger, but Temple has proven capable at home, boasting a 94-90 overtime win over Coastal Bend on Dec. 31 and an 81-62 victory over Hill on Jan. 17. The Leopards will need to contain Chong and improve defensively to reverse January’s result.
Following this game, Collin County hosts Ranger on Saturday. Temple will prepare for a home contest against Grayson, also on Saturday.
Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at Temple College.
