South Georgia Tech vs Albany Tech

SOUTH GEORGIA TECH JETS AT ALBANY TECH TITANS

Preview

ALBANY, Ga. (Interstat) — The South Georgia Tech Jets visit the Albany Tech Titans in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, with both teams looking to build momentum for the final stretch of the season.

South Georgia Tech (8-13) enters having lost a heartbreaker, 80-79, to Gordon State on Feb. 4. That result snapped a four-game winning streak for the Jets, which included decisive victories over Georgia Highlands, Andrew, Southern Crescent and East Georgia State in January.

A key force during that surge was forward Matt Mbole. In three of those four wins, he posted dominant double-doubles, including a 19-point, 19-rebound performance against Georgia Highlands on Jan. 28 and a 15-point, 17-rebound, 5-block effort at Andrew on Jan. 24. His presence inside will be a primary concern for Albany Tech.

The Titans (5-9) are coming off one of their best performances of the season, an 85-75 home win over Gordon State on Feb. 7. Guard Brennan Wansley led the way with 22 points and 9 rebounds, continuing a strong scoring stretch. Wansley has averaged over 20 points per game in his last three contests where he saw significant minutes, including a 24-point outing at South Georgia State on Jan. 21.

Albany Tech’s season has been inconsistent, mixing wins like a narrow road victory at Southern Crescent with several single-digit losses. Their defense will be tested by a South Georgia Tech team that averaged 92 points per game during its recent winning streak.

This game is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series between the teams. They are scheduled to meet again at South Georgia Tech on Feb. 28.

For the Jets, the focus is on rebounding from their last-second loss and re-establishing their January form. For the Titans, the aim is to carry the confidence from their Gordon State win and protect their home court against a region rival.

Tip-off is set for Monday night at Albany Tech.
