Indian Hills vs Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Interstat) — A stark contrast in trajectories will be on display Saturday when the nationally-ranked Indian Hills Warriors visit the struggling Marshalltown Tigers in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

The Warriors (19-2), one of the top teams in the NJCAA, enter on a dominant run. They have won nine of their last ten games, including a 69-54 road victory at Triton on Wednesday. Their offense has been potent, averaging 86.5 points per game during that stretch.

Indian Hills is led by standout guard Chaz Watson, who is capable of explosive scoring performances. He poured in 32 points against Sauk Valley on Jan. 31 and 29 points against Triton on Jan. 13. His play will be central to the Warriors’ high-tempo attack.

Conversely, Marshalltown (1-4) has struggled to find consistency this season. The Tigers have lost four consecutive games since their lone win on Dec. 6, most recently falling 71-54 at Southeastern on Jan. 24. Offensive production has been a challenge, as the team has not surpassed 60 points in its last three outings.

The Tigers will look to forward Tom Guma to provide a spark. Guma fills the stat sheet, contributing points, rebounds, assists and blocks. He posted 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks in the loss to Southeastern. Support from guards Hassan Bush and Tre’Von Coney, who combined for 36 points in that game, will also be critical.

The matchup presents a classic challenge of a powerhouse against a team seeking an upset to turn its season around. Indian Hills will aim to leverage its superior record and offensive firepower, while Marshalltown will need a disciplined defensive effort and efficient scoring to compete at home.

The teams are scheduled to meet again in Ottumwa on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Indian Hills’ next game is at home against Southeastern on Feb. 14. Marshalltown’s following contest is the rematch at Indian Hills on Feb. 24.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Marshalltown Community College.
