Gordon State vs Albany Tech

ALBANY, Ga. (Interstat) — Two Georgia junior college men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Gordon State Highlanders visit the Albany Tech Titans.

The non-conference matchup, scheduled for February 7, 2026, features teams with similar records. Gordon State enters at 5-10 overall, while Albany Tech sits at 4-9.

The Highlanders arrive with confidence after a narrow 80-79 road victory over South Georgia Tech this past Wednesday. That win snapped a two-game skid for Gordon State, which had previously suffered losses to Central Georgia and Florida Southwestern State (twice) in December. Their season highlights include a 99-71 rout of Andrew College and a tight 78-77 win at East Georgia State last month.

Albany Tech looks to bounce back from a 65-70 loss at Central Georgia on Jan. 28. In that game, guard Tyler Husband led the Titans with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes. Husband is a key player to watch; he followed that performance with an eight-assist game against South Georgia State on Jan. 21 and contributed seven points and six rebounds in a one-point win at Southern Crescent on Jan. 17. His production will be critical for the Titans’ offense.

Beyond Husband, Albany Tech has seen contributions from Brennan Wansley, who scored 12 points against Central Georgia, and Londarius King. The Titans’ season has been inconsistent, with a mix of blowout wins, like an 88-51 victory over Andrew, and lopsided losses to teams like Chipola and Santa Fe.

For Gordon State, the recent road win suggests resilience. Their ability to perform away from home will be tested again in Albany.

This game represents a chance for either team to build a winning streak and improve its standing before progressing deeper into February’s schedule. Albany Tech hosts South Georgia Tech on Monday, February 9, in its next outing, while Gordon State’s next game is at home against Georgia Highlands on Wednesday, February 11.

Tip-off is set for Saturday at Albany Tech’s home court.
