Eastern Oklahoma State vs Northern Oklahoma-Enid

ENID, Okla. (Interstat) — A tight conference rematch is set for Thursday when the Northern Oklahoma-Enid Jets host the Eastern Oklahoma State Mountaineers in a men’s junior college basketball clash.

The Jets (8-6) will look to defend their home court and avenge a 77-73 overtime loss to the Mountaineers just one month ago, on Jan. 5, in Wilburton. That result is a focal point for both teams as they navigate the second half of the season.

Northern Oklahoma-Enid enters having dropped three of its last four, including a 82-73 road loss to Connors State on Monday. In that game, guard Riley Shore led the Jets with 23 points and seven rebounds. Shore has been a consistent scorer, averaging 15.2 points over his last five contests and will be a key player to watch for the home team.

Eastern Oklahoma State (4-6) seeks to build momentum after a back-and-forth start to its season. The Mountaineers are coming off a 84-76 home loss to Seminole State on Monday, despite a strong performance from forward Devin Brown. Brown posted 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in that defeat, continuing a dominant stretch. Over his last three games, Brown is averaging 21.3 points, 13.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists, establishing himself as one of the region’s most productive players.

The Jets hold the better overall record, but the Mountaineers’ victory in the first head-to-head meeting levels the playing field. Eastern Oklahoma State will rely heavily on Brown’s interior presence and all-around game, while Northern Oklahoma-Enid will counter with Shore’s scoring and a supporting cast that includes Faris Mucharbach, who recorded a double-double in the last outing.

Tipoff is scheduled for Thursday night at the NOC Enid Gymnasium.
