CASPER, Wyo. (Interstat) — The Casper Thunderbirds avenged a loss from earlier this season with an 85-83 victory over the Laramie County Golden Eagles in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night. Casper, which lost to Laramie County by 18 points on Jan. 17, secured the narrow road win behind a strong first-half offensive performance. The Thunderbirds scored 38 points in the opening quarter and led 85-83 when the final buzzer sounded. The result improved Casper’s season record to 7-14, while Laramie County fell to 11-10. The Golden Eagles had been projected as a heavy favorite to win according to statistical models.
