Roane State vs Motlow State
Preview: Roane State Raiders at Motlow State Bucks
LYNCHBURG, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency will meet Wednesday when the Roane State Raiders visit the Motlow State Bucks in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.
Both squads enter with .500 records. The visiting Raiders are 7-7 overall, while the home Bucks stand at 8-8. The game is a rematch of a Nov. 19 contest, which Roane State won 66-56 at home.
Roane State looks to bounce back from an 89-65 home loss to Walters State on Jan. 28. In that game, guard Dashawn Hall-Johnson led the Raiders with 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Hall-Johnson, a key player to watch, has averaged 14 points over his last two outings.
Motlow State is also coming off a narrow defeat, falling 66-64 to Volunteer State on Jan. 31. Bucks guard Jay’Byon Snipe scored a team-high 20 points in the loss. Snipe’s production has varied, following a 20-point effort with a scoreless outing against Columbia State on Jan. 23, but he remains a primary offensive threat for Motlow.
The Bucks have shown resilience at home this season, including a 68-66 win over Walters State on Jan. 14. Forward Sagna Ousseynou provides an interior presence, grabbing 10 rebounds in the recent loss to Volunteer State.
For Roane State, support for Hall-Johnson has come from Mikey Carpenter and Jordan Hamilton, who combined for 18 points and eight assists against Walters State.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest is projected to be a high-scoring deadlock, with a predicted final score of 100-100.
Following this game, Roane State will host Dyersburg State on Feb. 7. Motlow State’s next contest is at Southwest Tennessee on Feb. 14.
Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday night at Motlow State’s home court.
