(Interstat) — Sterling Knox scored 34 points and the Independence Pirates capitalized on a dominant performance from the free-throw line to defeat the Fort Hays Tech Trailblazers 81-70 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night. The most important part of the game was Independence’s nearly flawless execution at the charity stripe, which ultimately decided a contest that was closer than the final score indicated.
