HUTCHINSON, Kan. (Interstat) — The Barton Cougars defeated the Hutchinson Blue Dragons 68-60 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night, avenging a one-point loss from December.

Barton built a commanding 35-24 lead after the first quarter and held off a Hutchinson rally in the second. The Cougars dominated the boards with 45 rebounds and capitalized at the free-throw line, making 15 of 18 attempts. Hutchinson’s Daleron Thomas led all scorers with 29 points, but the Blue Dragons struggled from three-point range, shooting just 4 of 24.

Jayden Ramirez paced Barton with 15 points and seven rebounds. The victory improved Barton’s record to 15-8, while Hutchinson fell to 8-13.
