Grayson vs Collin County
Preview: Grayson Vikings at Collin County Cougars
PLANO, Texas (Interstat) — The Collin County Cougars look to rebound from a tough loss when they host the struggling Grayson Vikings in a men’s junior college basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.
The Cougars (9-5) enter having dropped two of their last three, including a 75-55 home defeat to McLennan on Monday. Kevin Paul scored 15 points in that loss and has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 15.5 points over his last four games. His season-high 21-point performance in a win over Temple on Jan. 10 highlights his capability.
Collin County previously defeated Hill 72-57 on Jan. 21, showcasing the form that has them well above .500 for the season.
Grayson (3-16) seeks to end a prolonged slump, having lost 11 of its last 12 games. The Vikings are coming off a narrow 63-60 road loss at Hill on Jan. 31. In that game, Judah Peña posted a strong line of 10 points and nine rebounds, while Caleb Alcineus led the team with 16 points.
Peña will be a key figure for the Vikings, who have struggled to find consistent scoring outside of occasional bright spots. The team’s lone victory in the last two months was a 99-98 home win over Temple on Jan. 14.
The matchup pits one of the region’s more balanced teams against one searching for answers. Collin County has shown resilience at home, while Grayson has found wins elusive both at home and on the road this season.
This game is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series, with the rematch scheduled for Saturday, March 7, in Denison, Texas.
