Northwest vs Central Wyoming
RIVERTON, Wyo. (Interstat) — The Northwest College Trappers, riding a three-game winning streak, will visit the struggling Central Wyoming College Rustlers in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Saturday.
Northwest (10-7) enters on a high note after a 77-67 home victory over Casper on Wednesday. The Trappers have found momentum in regional play, with their recent surge anchored by efficient scoring and balanced efforts.
A key player for the Trappers is Logan Woolstenhulme, who is coming off a standout performance. In the win over Casper, Woolstenhulme scored 19 points in just 14 minutes off the bench. Over his last seven games, he has averaged 12.1 points per contest, providing a consistent spark. Eli Patterson and Nayel Girard also contributed significantly in the latest win, combining for 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Central Wyoming (4-10) looks to halt a three-game skid, most recently a 65-61 loss at Eastern Wyoming on Jan. 24. The Rustlers have struggled to find consistent offense, failing to reach 65 points in four of their last five outings.
Forward Isaac Patik has been a bright spot for the Rustlers. In the loss to Eastern Wyoming, Patik nearly posted a double-double with 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes. Camrin Gulley and Tyler Jette, who scored 15 points in that game, will also be relied upon to generate production.
The game will be a test of momentum against desperation. Northwest’s winning streak has featured tight victories, including a 60-58 win at Gillette, showcasing an ability to close games. Central Wyoming, meanwhile, has shown it can compete at home, with a 76-64 win over Casper on Jan. 14 highlighting its potential.
This contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They will meet again in Powell on Feb. 18.
Tip-off is set for Saturday at Central Wyoming College in Riverton.
