Pratt vs Butler (Kan.)
EL DORADO, Kan. (Interstat) — A surging Butler (Kan.) men’s junior college basketball team looks to continue its winning ways Wednesday when it hosts a struggling Pratt squad at the Power Plant.
The Grizzly Bears (14-6) enter on a three-game win streak, including a dominant 102-73 road victory at Hutchinson on Monday. They have averaged over 111 points per game during the streak. Forward Devin Kerr has been a consistent force, posting a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Colby on Jan. 17 and scoring 26 points with 10 boards in an overtime win against Dodge City on Jan. 10.
The visiting Pratt Beavers (3-13) snapped a three-game skid with an 88-79 home win over Garden City on Monday. They will need a similar performance to challenge the high-powered Grizzlies. A key for Pratt will be forward Seydina Faye, who erupted for 20 points and eight rebounds in the win over Garden City. His production, however, has fluctuated, scoring four points in each of his two previous games.
Butler won the season’s first meeting 98-91 at Pratt on Nov. 25, 2025. The Grizzly Bears’ offense, which has topped 110 points seven times this season, will be a major test for a Pratt defense that has allowed an average of 80.6 points per game.
For Butler, Kerr’s versatility as a scorer and rebounder anchors a deep lineup. Tim Walker II (14 points) and Tristan Hankins (13 points, nine rebounds) were also pivotal in the recent rout of Hutchinson.
Pratt’s hope may rest on replicating its balanced effort from Monday, where Scottie Guillory added 18 points and seven rebounds and Kisean Robinson scored 17 points alongside Faye’s big night.
Tipoff is set for Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026. Butler looks ahead to a road game at Fort Hays Tech on Saturday, while Pratt’s next contest is at home against Independence on Jan. 31.
