Wilbur Wright vs Malcolm X
Preview: Malcolm X Hawks Host Wilbur Wright Rams in Junior College Men’s Basketball
CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Malcolm X Hawks will look to solidify their winning record when they host the struggling Wilbur Wright Rams in a men’s junior college basketball game Tuesday night.
The Hawks (8-5) enter the contest following a 94-84 road victory over Harry S Truman on Jan. 22. They will face a Rams team (0-8) still searching for its first win of the season after a 71-43 home loss to Kankakee on the same date.
This matchup is a rematch of a Nov. 20, 2025, meeting, which Malcolm X dominated 101-54 at Wilbur Wright. The Hawks have won five of their last seven games overall, while the Rams have lost each of their games this season by an average margin of 30.5 points.
A key player for Malcolm X is guard Sam Vil, who dished out 10 assists in a Jan. 10 win over Kennedy-King. Vil’s playmaking will be central to the Hawks’ offense.
Wilbur Wright will rely on the scoring of Elijah Thompson, who posted 14 points in a Jan. 13 loss to Sauk Valley. Thompson is one of the Rams’ primary offensive options as the team seeks to break into the win column.
The game tips off at 7 p.m. Central time on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at Malcolm X College.
Following this game, Malcolm X will host Olive-Harvey on Thursday, Jan. 29. Wilbur Wright’s next contest is at home against Richard J Daley on the same date.
