Marshalltown vs Southeastern
WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (Interstat) — The Southeastern Community College Blackhawks will look to solidify their position above .500 when they host the struggling Marshalltown Community College Tigers in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.
The Blackhawks (8-7) enter the contest following a narrow 77-71 road loss to Triton on Jan. 17, a game in which guard Prophet Fields filled the stat sheet with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Fields has been a consistent contributor, averaging 9.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists over his last three outings. Forward Trevan Krumrei, who scored 20 points against Triton, provides additional scoring punch.
Marshalltown (1-3) seeks to rebound from a heartbreaking 59-58 home loss to Sauk Valley on Jan. 17. The Tigers’ lone win this season came against Lake Region State on Dec. 6, 2025. They will lean heavily on forward Tristan Christopher, who nearly posted a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds in 40 minutes during the last defeat. Support from Sean Conway, who had 11 points in just 11 minutes off the bench, will be crucial.
The game marks the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams, with a rematch scheduled for Feb. 28 in Marshalltown. Southeastern’s schedule shows a cluster of home games ahead, including dates with Kennedy-King and Malcolm X next week. Marshalltown faces a lengthy break after this contest, not playing again until hosting Indian Hills on Feb. 7.
Tipoff is set for Saturday at Loren Walker Arena in West Burlington.
