Undefeated Coahoma Tigers Face Northeast Mississippi Tigers in Junior College Showdown

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (Interstat) — A clash of Tigers will highlight the junior college men’s basketball slate Tuesday as the undefeated Coahoma Tigers visit the Northeast Mississippi Tigers.

The game, set for Jan. 20, 2026, pits two teams on divergent tracks. Coahoma enters with a perfect 5-0 record across all competitions, while Northeast Mississippi sits at an even 6-6.

Coahoma has dominated its early schedule, averaging 92.0 points per game. Its most recent victory was an 82-72 win over Itawamba on Jan. 12. The team’s strength is its balanced attack, evidenced in that game where Jeremiah Davis scored 23 points, Dee Robison added 17 and Ahmed Ibrahim contributed 18 points and eight rebounds.

Davis, a player to watch for Coahoma, was remarkably efficient against Itawamba, recording his 23 points, six rebounds and two assists in just one minute of play, according to provided statistics.

Northeast Mississippi looks to rebound from a 76-89 loss at Itawamba on Jan. 15. In that contest, Ezekiel Udozorh shined with 26 points, nine rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes. Udozorh is the key figure for the home team, coming off a 26-point performance and a 16-point game against Holmes on Jan. 12.

Northeast Mississippi’s season has been inconsistent, with a notable 87-61 home loss to Holmes preceding the recent defeat at Itawamba.

The historical results show both teams have faced Itawamba recently, with Coahoma securing a 10-point win and Northeast Mississippi falling by 13 on the road.

Following this matchup, Coahoma will host Northwest Mississippi on Jan. 22, continuing its pursuit of an unblemished season. Northeast Mississippi hits the road for its next contest, facing Northwest Mississippi on Jan. 26.

Tuesday’s game will test whether Coahoma’s high-powered, balanced offense can maintain its perfect start against a Northeast Mississippi squad seeking to leverage home court and the standout play of Udozorh to reach .500 in region play.
