San Diego Miramar vs San Diego Mesa

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — Two San Diego County men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the San Diego Miramar Jets visit the San Diego Mesa Olympians in a California Community College Athletic Association matchup.

The cross-town contest features teams with nearly identical records. The visiting Jets enter at 5-8 overall, while the home Olympians sit at 6-10. Both squads are looking to rebound from extended breaks and inconsistent stretches of play.

San Diego Miramar last played on Dec. 22, 2025, securing a narrow 58-57 road win at Cerritos. Christian Washington led the Jets with 21 points in that victory, supported by Dimetrius Simpson’s eight rebounds. However, that win snapped a five-game losing streak for Miramar, which includes a 53-56 loss to Cuyamaca and a 60-95 defeat to Santiago Canyon in mid-December.

San Diego Mesa is coming off a more recent, but lopsided, 67-109 loss at Palomar on Jan. 3. In that game, Mohamed Abdisalan pulled down nine rebounds for the Olympians. Mesa’s form has been uneven, with a win over Cuyamaca on Dec. 30 followed by a loss to the same opponent a day later in their own tournament.

A player to watch for Mesa will be Abdisalan, whose activity on the glass provides a key interior presence. For Miramar, the scoring punch of Washington will be critical if the Jets hope to win on the road.

This game opens the conference schedule for both teams and is the first of two regular-season meetings. The rematch is set for Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Miramar. The winner will gain an early edge in the local standings and a measure of confidence as the season progresses.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. PST at San Diego Mesa College.
