Feather River vs Butte
Feather River Aims to Rebound Against Butte in California JUCO Matchup
BUTTE, Calif. (Interstat) — The Feather River Golden Eagles look to bounce back from a conference loss when they visit the Butte Roadrunners in a California Community College Athletic Association men’s basketball game Wednesday night.
Feather River (11-6) enters the contest after falling 71-60 at Chabot this past Saturday. Despite the loss, forward Kameron Ricks turned in a strong defensive performance with nine rebounds and three blocks. Ricks, a key player for the Golden Eagles, will be central to their efforts against Butte.
The Golden Eagles have shown resilience on the road this season, with notable victories at West Valley, Sacramento City and American River in December. Their offense has proven capable of high outputs, scoring 99 or more points in three games this season.
Butte (8-10) seeks to build momentum at home after a 71-67 loss at Merritt on Dec. 30. The Roadrunners’ season has been inconsistent, featuring a mix of narrow defeats, including an overtime loss to Porterville, and solid wins, such as a 99-73 victory over Canada College and an 88-62 win against American River.
Wednesday’s matchup will hinge on Feather River’s ability to leverage its winning record and offensive firepower against a Butte team that has struggled for consistency. The Golden Eagles’ interior defense, led by Ricks, will be tested by a Butte squad that has scored 85 points or more in five games this season.
This game marks the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They are scheduled to play again at Feather River on Jan. 31.
The Golden Eagles continue conference play at home against Lassen on Saturday. Butte will hit the road to face Redwoods on the same day.
Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.
