Lemoore vs Reedley

Preview: Lemoore Golden Eagles at Reedley Tigers

REEDLEY, Calif. (Interstat) — A Central Valley men’s junior college basketball matchup with postseason implications tips off Wednesday when the Reedley Tigers host the Lemoore Golden Eagles.

The Tigers (9-5) enter with the stronger overall record, but the Golden Eagles (7-7) have won three of their last four, including an 85-69 rout of Allan Hancock on Saturday. Reedley is looking to build momentum after a narrow 71-68 home victory over Skyline that same day.

The game features two of the region’s top performers. Lemoore is powered by forward Mykayle McCoy, who is in the midst of a dominant stretch. Over his last eight games, McCoy is averaging 22.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per contest. He posted a 27-point, 11-rebound double-double in the win over Allan Hancock.

Reedley counters with forward CJ Kornegay Jr., who is coming off a 16-point, 12-rebound performance against Skyline. Kornegay provides a consistent interior presence for the Tigers.

Lemoore’s recent surge has been keyed by improved offensive output, scoring 78 or more points in four of their last five wins. Alongside McCoy, Davion Jackson (14 points, 6 assists vs. Hancock) and Na’Jae Stevenson (15 rebounds vs. Hancock) are key contributors.

Reedley has shown a capacity for strong defense at home, holding four opponents under 62 points this season. However, they are 1-2 in their last three games, with two losses by 25 or more points.

This contest marks the first of a home-and-home series between the teams, who will meet again in Lemoore on Jan. 31. Wednesday’s result could prove pivotal for positioning within the California community college landscape.

Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at Reedley College.
