CASPER, Wyo. (Interstat) — The Laramie County Golden Eagles used a dominant first half to defeat the Casper Thunderbirds 88-70 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

Laramie County opened a 23-point halftime lead, scoring 53 points in the first quarter and 88 total on efficient 56% shooting from the floor. Isaac Fiagbe led the Golden Eagles with 21 points and nine rebounds. Casper, which shot just 42% and 21% from three-point range, was paced by Zaire Richardson’s 18 points.

The Golden Eagles improved to 8-9 overall, while the Thunderbirds fell to 5-13. The teams meet again Feb. 4 in Cheyenne.
