Solano vs Alameda

ALAMEDA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Alameda Cougars will look to build on their most decisive win of the season when they host the struggling Solano Falcons in a California community college men’s basketball game Tuesday night.

Alameda (6-7) is coming off an 84-59 road victory over Mendocino last Friday, a performance that showcased its offensive potential. The Cougars will rely on guard Lucas Boze, who was instrumental in that win, pouring in 25 points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing three assists. Boze has been a consistent scorer, reaching double figures in four of his last five outings.

Solano (3-10) enters on a five-game losing skid, including a 52-84 home loss to Yuba last Friday. The Falcons have struggled offensively during the streak, failing to score more than 73 points in any of those contests. Their bright spot has been forward Dominick Dennis, who is coming off a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds against Yuba. Dennis has averaged 11.8 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last five games.

The matchup presents a contrast in momentum. Alameda’s recent win provided a boost after a narrow 79-78 victory over Los Medanos and a three-point road loss to Merced in December. The Cougars’ offense has shown flashes of high efficiency.

Solano, meanwhile, seeks to rediscover its early December form when it secured two of its three wins, beating Porterville and Fresno City. The Falcons’ defense will be tested by an Alameda team that just posted a season-high in points.

This game is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams, with the rematch scheduled for Feb. 4 in Fairfield. Following this contest, Alameda travels to face Yuba on Thursday, while Solano prepares to host Contra Costa the same day.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PST at Alameda Gymnasium.
