John A Logan vs Olney Central
Preview: John A Logan at Olney Central
OLNEY, Ill. (Interstat) — A surging John A Logan squad will look to extend its winning streak against a struggling Olney Central team when the Volunteers visit the Blue Knights in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night.
The Volunteers (6-5) enter with momentum, having won their last two games decisively. They routed Southwestern Illinois 90-58 at home on Saturday, following a 107-99 road victory at Lake Land on Jan. 7. Their offense has averaged 98.5 points during the streak.
Conversely, the Blue Knights (2-6) are seeking to halt a two-game slide, including an 80-56 loss at Shawnee on Saturday. Olney Central has lost four of its last five, with its only win in that span a 78-75 home victory over State Fair on Dec. 4. Defense has been a persistent issue, as the Blue Knights have allowed 78 or more points in six of their eight games.
A player to watch for John A Logan is Alexander Bryant. The Volunteers’ recent success has come with minimal contribution from Bryant, who played just one minute in the win at Lake Land. His potential for a larger role remains a variable for the visiting team.
Despite the contrasting trajectories, a projection from Interstat’s game simulator suggests a tightly contested affair, predicting a 100-100 draw. This forecast implies a significant offensive uptick for Olney Central, which has not scored more than 78 points in any game this season.
The matchup begins a critical stretch for both teams in January. Following this game, John A Logan will host Kaskaskia on Jan. 21. Olney Central will hit the road for a matchup at Wabash Valley on Jan. 17.
Wednesday’s contest will be the first of two regular-season meetings between the programs this season. They are scheduled to meet again at John A Logan on Feb. 18.
Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Olney Central College.
