(Interstat) — Gordon State earned a 90-81 men’s junior college basketball victory over Southern Crescent on Wednesday night. The visiting Highlanders built a six-point halftime lead, outscoring the Tigers 41-35 in the first quarter and 49-46 in the second. The win improved Gordon State’s season record to 2-9, while Southern Crescent fell to 0-7. The result defied a pregame projection that heavily favored the Tigers to win. Mouhamed Mbodj and Jon Estime were key performers in the game. Gordon State next hosts South Georgia State on Saturday.
