Triton vs Indian Hills

RIVER GROVE, Ill. (Interstat) — A surging Indian Hills squad, ranked among the nation’s elite in men’s junior college basketball, will host a Triton team seeking a statement win when the Warriors and Trojans meet Tuesday night.

Indian Hills (14-2) enters the contest with momentum, coming off a 68-61 road victory over Southeastern this past Saturday. Their season has been marked by dominant performances, including a 125-point outburst against Lake Region State in December, with their only setbacks being narrow road losses to Mineral Area and Snow. The Warriors’ balanced attack and stout defense have made them a formidable force.

The Triton Trojans (7-6), meanwhile, have shown flashes of strong play but have struggled with consistency. They are riding high after a convincing 90-71 home win over Highland on Jan. 7, where their offense clicked efficiently. A key to any Triton upset bid will be forward Terez Holmes. The standout is coming off a monstrous performance against Highland, recording 15 rebounds, 9 points and 3 blocks in 27 minutes. Over his last three games, Holmes has averaged 14.7 points and 10.7 rebounds, providing a critical interior presence.

In the Jan. 7 win, Triton also received significant contributions from Papa Kounta (19 points, 6 rebounds) and Saadiq Moore (11 points, 8 assists). Replicating that balanced scoring will be essential against a deep Indian Hills roster.

This game is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series between the teams. They are scheduled to meet again in River Grove on Feb. 4. For Triton, facing one of the region’s top teams offers a chance to gauge their progress and build resume. For Indian Hills, it’s an opportunity to protect their home court and continue building toward a postseason seed.

Tip-off is set for Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at the home of the Warriors.
