Community Christian vs Gadsden State
GADSDEN, Ala. (Interstat) — The Gadsden State Cardinals will look to capitalize on a favorable matchup when they host the winless Community Christian Saints in a men’s junior college basketball game Monday night.
The Cardinals (2-3) enter the contest following a narrow 83-79 road loss to Pellissippi State on Jan. 5. Prior to that, Gadsden State secured a 78-68 home victory over Copiah-Lincoln on Dec. 11. Their season has been marked by close contests, with three of their five games decided by five points or fewer.
Community Christian (0-8) is mired in a prolonged slump, having lost each of its games by an average margin of 38.5 points. The Saints are coming off a month-long break since a 113-46 defeat at Coahoma on Dec. 13. That loss typified their season struggles, which include a 123-74 loss at Baton Rouge and a 107-40 loss at Cochise.
For Gadsden State, the game represents a critical opportunity to build momentum before a demanding stretch of conference play. Following Monday’s game, the Cardinals will host Coastal Alabama on Jan. 15, beginning a string of 10 consecutive Alabama Community College Conference contests to conclude their regular season.
The Saints, meanwhile, are desperately seeking any positive momentum. Their offense has consistently struggled, failing to reach 75 points in any game this season. Defensively, they have allowed opponents to score 95 points or more in six of their eight losses.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs this season. Tip-off is set for Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Gadsden State’s home venue.
