SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (Interstat) — Quis Davis scored 20 points to lead Northeastern (Colo.) to a 68-67 men’s junior college basketball victory over Western Nebraska on Saturday.

The Plainsmen built a 28-33 halftime lead and held off a late Cougars rally. Davis added four rebounds in 35 minutes. Ethan Carter contributed 15 points and six rebounds for Northeastern (Colo.), which improved to 7-4.

Kellon Harris led Western Nebraska with 17 points. Isaiah St. Preux added 14 points and six rebounds for the Cougars, who fell to 4-12. The game defied a national statistical projection that forecast a much higher-scoring tie.
