GARDEN CITY, Kan. (Interstat) — Manasseh Stackhouse scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Saturday to lead the Cloud County Thunderbirds to an 87-85 men’s junior college basketball victory over the Garden City Broncbusters.

The Thunderbirds, who improved to 7-7, held off a late charge after leading by as many as 12 points in the second quarter. Garden City’s Dasean Lewis scored 20 points and dished seven assists for the Broncbusters, who fell to 9-6. Cloud County’s Kuel Akot added 21 points.

The game was a statistical deadlock in several categories, but Cloud County’s 53% shooting from the field and a 39-33 rebounding edge proved decisive. Garden City, which was projected as a heavy favorite, shot just 44% and missed 10 free throws.
