Bossier Parish vs Lamar State-Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR, Texas (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking to reverse early-season struggles will meet Saturday when the Bossier Parish Cavaliers visit the Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks.

Both squads enter the contest on the heels of Wednesday road losses. Bossier Parish (3-5) fell 91-71 at Tyler, while Lamar State-Port Arthur (2-6) was defeated 95-74 at Lee.

The Cavaliers will look to guard Mazin Lumori to spark their offense. Lumori is coming off a 12-point, four-assist performance in 27 minutes against Tyler. He has been a consistent contributor for a Bossier Parish team whose season highlights include a 78-72 win at Paris on Dec. 3 and a 63-62 home victory over Navarro on Dec. 6.

The Seahawks’ path to victory likely runs through forward Isaiah Brooks. Brooks has shown flashes of high productivity, recording a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds at Tyler on Dec. 13 and adding 14 points and eight rebounds in a 73-67 home win over Navarro on Jan. 3. His minutes were limited in Wednesday’s loss to Lee.

For Bossier Parish, Tony Montgomery leads the team coming off a 16-point, six-assist effort against Tyler, with Drew Cooper adding 11 points.

Both teams have faced similar regional competition, with each suffering losses to Tyler and Panola, while both have notched wins over Navarro. Saturday’s game represents a critical opportunity for either program to gain momentum early in the conference schedule.

The Seahawks will aim to protect their home court, where they earned their most impressive win of the season over Navarro. The Cavaliers are searching for their first road win since early December.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, in Port Arthur.
