Lake Land Edges Kaskaskia in Tight Junior College Men’s Basketball Contest
CENTRALIA, Ill. (Interstat) — The Lake Land Lakers edged the Kaskaskia Blue Devils 89-87 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday. The visiting Lakers improved to 2-7 overall, while the Blue Devils fell to 2-3.
The game was a tight affair throughout, with Lake Land holding a narrow 47-45 lead at halftime. Both teams scored 42 points in the second half, allowing the Lakers to secure the two-point road victory. The outcome defied a pregame statistical projection that heavily favored Kaskaskia.
Key performances from Aiden Swinson, Loic Affoumon and Lavell Tinsley helped propel Lake Land to the win. The two teams are scheduled to meet again in a rematch on Feb. 14 at Lake Land.
