Dyersburg State vs Chattanooga State
DYERSBURG, Tenn. (Interstat) — A struggling Dyersburg State squad seeks a rare victory when it visits Chattanooga State in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.
The Eagles (1-10) have lost 10 of their first 11 games this season, including a 83-78 home loss to Southwest Tennessee on Wednesday. Their lone win came on Jan. 3, a 102-89 victory over Shawnee.
Chattanooga State (6-3) enters on a high note after a 103-91 road win at Motlow State on Wednesday. The Tigers have won four of their last five contests.
A key matchup will feature Dyersburg State guard Isaiah Claybrooks against Chattanooga State’s backcourt. Claybrooks is coming off a 25-point, 4-assist performance in the win over Shawnee, showcasing his ability to carry the Eagles’ offense. For the Tigers, Nicholas Long looks to build on his team’s balanced attack, which produced a high-scoring output last time out.
Despite the stark contrast in records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tightly contested affair, predicting a 100-100 final score. Dyersburg State will need to improve its defensive consistency, having allowed an average of 90.5 points per game in its losses. Chattanooga State, averaging over 80 points per game, will aim to exploit that weakness.
The game is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Chattanooga State. The teams are scheduled to meet again in Dyersburg on Feb. 21.
