Paris vs Lee
PARIS, Texas (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams trending in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Paris Dragons visit the Lee Runnin’ Rebels.
Paris (7-4) looks to rebound from a decisive 81-63 home loss to Kilgore on Wednesday. That defeat snapped a three-game winning streak for the Dragons, who had previously edged Angelina 61-58 on Jan. 3. Guard Amari Edwards, who scored 17 points in that victory over Angelina, is a key offensive catalyst for Paris.
Lee (6-4) enters with momentum after a high-scoring 95-74 rout of Lamar State-Port Arthur on Wednesday. The Rebels’ victory provided a bounce-back from a 91-66 road loss at Kilgore on Jan. 3. In that Kilgore game, forward Jayden Thomas contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench.
The matchup features contrasting recent trajectories. Paris seeks to regain its pre-Kilgore form, while Lee aims to build on its explosive offensive performance. The Dragons have shown resilience on the road this season, with notable wins at Angelina, Coastal Bend and Blinn.
Lee has been strong at home, boasting decisive wins over Coastal Bend and Angelina in Baytown earlier this season. Protecting home court will be a priority for the Rebels as they navigate a tough upcoming schedule.
Saturday’s contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They are scheduled to meet again in Paris on Feb. 14.
The game tips off at 4 p.m. EST on Jan. 10 at Lee College in Baytown, Texas.
