Caldwell Tech vs Wake Tech

Preview: Caldwell Tech Cobras at Wake Tech Eagles

RALEIGH, N.C. (Interstat) — Two teams riding the momentum of high-scoring victories will meet Saturday when the Caldwell Tech Cobras visit the Wake Tech Eagles in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

The Cobras (5-3) enter on a two-game winning streak, most recently overpowering USC Salkehatchie 116-95 on Wednesday. Caldwell Tech’s offense has been potent, averaging 93.6 points per game in its five wins. However, the team has shown vulnerability on the road, with two of its three losses coming away from home.

Wake Tech (3-3) evened its record with a 77-72 road win at Cape Fear on Wednesday. The Eagles will rely on forward Jaiden Shephard, who is coming off a dominant double-double performance with 14 points and 10 rebounds in that victory. Backcourt production from Saiquone Harris (22 points) and Tequan Holley (12 points, 7 rebounds) was also crucial in the win.

The game presents a contrast in consistency. Caldwell Tech has displayed explosive scoring ability, eclipsing 110 points four times this season, but has struggled in its road defeats. Wake Tech has experienced both sides of blowouts, with losses by 29 and 26 points, but also secured a double-overtime road win at Richard Bland.

This contest marks the first of two regular-season meetings between the programs. They are scheduled to meet again at Caldwell Tech on Feb. 7.

For Wake Tech, the homestand continues next Saturday against USC Salkehatchie. Caldwell Tech returns home to host Cape Fear on Jan. 17.

Tip-off is set for Saturday at Wake Tech’s home court.
