SOUTH GEORGIA STATE HAWKS AT CENTRAL GEORGIA TITANS

Preview

MACON, Ga. (Interstat) — Two Georgia junior college men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the South Georgia State Hawks visit the Central Georgia Titans.

The game is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2026.

South Georgia State (4-5) enters on a two-game winning streak after an 83-75 home victory over East Georgia State on Wednesday. The Hawks were led in that contest by Jeremy Anderson, who posted 18 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Anderson, a player to watch, has been a key contributor during the Hawks’ recent uptick.

Central Georgia (2-5) snapped a five-game skid with a dominant 94-74 road win at South Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The Titans will look to build on that performance and secure their first home victory of the new year.

While the Hawks have shown offensive firepower, averaging 78.6 points in their four wins, they have also endured lopsided defeats, including a 97-49 loss at Gulf Coast State in November. Consistency remains a question.

The Titans’ season has been marked by narrow losses, including two overtime defeats to Tallahassee State by a combined four points. Their defense will be tested by a South Georgia State trio of Anderson, Trey Callaway and Chandler Thomas, who combined for 46 points, 20 rebounds and 15 assists in the midweek win.

For Central Georgia, Kaziaes Hemphill is a player to watch, though his recent minutes have been limited.

This contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the programs. They will meet again in Douglas, Georgia, on Feb. 7.

Following this game, South Georgia State will host South Georgia Tech on Jan. 14. Central Georgia hits the road to face Georgia Highlands on the same date.
