Laramie County vs Trinidad State
Preview: Laramie County at Trinidad State Men’s Basketball
TRINIDAD, Colo. (Interstat) — Two teams with identical aspirations to reach the .500 mark will meet Friday when the Trinidad State Trojans host the Laramie County Golden Eagles in a men’s junior college basketball game.
Both teams enter the contest at 6-9 overall, seeking momentum early in the new year. The matchup is a quick rematch of a Nov. 28 meeting in Cheyenne, which Laramie County won 93-87.
The Golden Eagles (6-7) are looking to rebound from a narrow 76-74 road loss to Northeastern (Colo.) on Dec. 13. In that game, guard TJ Coulter led all scorers with 27 points, adding seven rebounds. Forward Isaac Fiagbe contributed 16 points and seven rebounds, while Brevin Phillips controlled the glass with 11 rebounds.
Laramie County has shown offensive firepower this season, including a 112-point performance against Otero on Nov. 29, but has struggled with consistency.
The Trojans (6-9) arrive with confidence after an 89-78 road victory over Western Wyoming on Dec. 13. In that win, TaRea Fulcher paced Trinidad State with 19 points, four rebounds and four assists. Demorae Pritchett added 16 points and four assists, and Donavahan Cain recorded a double-double with 10 points and five rebounds.
Trinidad State’s season has been marked by volatility, featuring both a 102-point offensive outburst and several defensive lapses.
Historically, recent games between these teams have been high-scoring affairs. A statistical projection for Friday’s game anticipates another tight, offensive battle.
The contest will be the first of a two-game road trip for Laramie County, which visits Otero on Saturday. Trinidad State opens a stretch of five of its next seven games at home with this matchup.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST at the Trinidad State College Gymnasium.
