Seminole State (Okla.) vs Northeastern Oklahoma A&M
Preview: Seminole State (Okla.) at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M
MIAMI, Okla. (Interstat) — Two Oklahoma junior college men’s basketball teams seeking consistency will meet Wednesday when the Seminole State Trojans visit the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Golden Norseman.
The game, scheduled for Jan. 7, 2026, at NEO’s home court, features teams with combined records of 5-11 this season. Seminole State enters at 3-4, while Northeastern Oklahoma A&M sits at 2-7.
The Trojans last played a month ago, earning an 86-74 overtime victory over Grayson on Dec. 8. That win snapped a three-game losing streak for Seminole State, which includes losses to Clarendon, Collin County and a road defeat at Clarendon in late November. Their season opened with a narrow 96-93 win over Missouri State-West Plains.
The Golden Norseman have struggled since a Nov. 12 road win at Missouri State-West Plains, dropping five of their last six contests. Their most recent outing was a 96-88 home loss to that same Missouri State-West Plains team on Dec. 2. In that game, Kelton Williams led NEO with 20 points and six assists, while Justin McCarter (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Jed Ethan-Nansha (13 points, 11 rebounds) each posted double-doubles.
Both teams will look to this early January matchup to build momentum before diving deeper into their conference schedules. For Seminole State, this begins a string of games against regional opponents, including a rematch with NEO in Seminole on Feb. 9. The Golden Norseman open their own tough slate on Jan. 12 at Northern Oklahoma-Enid.
Wednesday’s contest represents a key opportunity for either squad to establish a positive trajectory for the second half of the season.
