Daytona State vs Santa Fe

Preview: Daytona State Falcons at Santa Fe Saints

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Interstat) — The surging Daytona State Falcons will put their four-game winning streak on the line Wednesday night in a Citrus Conference men’s junior college basketball clash against the Santa Fe Saints.

The Falcons (10-3) enter the contest off a high-scoring 96-83 victory over Eastern Florida State this past Saturday. Daytona State has not lost since Dec. 5, showcasing a balanced attack. In the win, Seydina N’Diaye scored 16 points and blocked five shots, while Tyrese Lacey dished out nine assists and Alex Harper added 15 points off the bench.

N’Diaye, a key defensive presence, has been particularly impactful during the streak, averaging 10.3 points and 4.3 blocks over his last three contests.

Santa Fe (4-2) also won on Jan. 3, defeating Polk State 83-78. The Saints have been inconsistent, however, alternating wins and losses in their last four games. Their two defeats this season were both narrow losses to Tallahassee State, including a 105-97 shootout at home on Dec. 16.

The matchup pits Daytona State’s high-octane offense, which has scored 80 or more points in eight games, against a Santa Fe squad that has held four of its six opponents under 70 points. The Saints will need that defensive rigor to slow a deep Falcons rotation.

This game marks the first of two regular-season meetings between the conference foes. They are scheduled to meet again at Daytona State on Feb. 7.

For the Falcons, this begins a critical stretch of conference play. Santa Fe looks to defend its home court and build momentum before hosting Eastern Florida State on Saturday.

Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida.
