Andrew vs Albany Tech

Preview: Andrew Fighting Tigers at Albany Tech Titans

ALBANY, Ga. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking their first victory in over a month will meet Wednesday when the Andrew Fighting Tigers visit the Albany Tech Titans.

The non-conference matchup, scheduled for Jan. 7, 2026, pits an Andrew team (0-2) still searching for its inaugural win of the season against an Albany Tech squad (2-6) mired in a three-game losing streak. Both programs have not played since mid-December.

Andrew enters following a pair of road losses to open its campaign in late October and early November. The Fighting Tigers fell 97-89 at Wallace State on Nov. 1, 2025, despite productive minutes from Richard Dunston III, Koby Johnson and Zion Suber. They also dropped their opener, 88-72, at Motlow State on Oct. 31.

Albany Tech’s season has been marked by inconsistency. The Titans’ two victories came in narrow fashion, a 92-91 home win over Southern Union State on Nov. 5 and an 87-74 home victory against Denmark Tech on Nov. 22. However, they have struggled defensively in recent outings, culminating in a 78-46 road loss to Chipola on Dec. 17. Their other defeats include double-digit losses to Santa Fe, Motlow State and a 102-86 setback at Southern Union State.

Wednesday’s contest represents a final non-conference tune-up before both teams dive into their respective regional schedules this weekend. The game will be the first of two meetings between the programs this season; they are scheduled for a rematch at Andrew on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

For the Fighting Tigers, the focus will be on converting their offensive production, shown in the 89-point effort at Wallace State, into a complete performance for their first win. The Titans aim to rediscover the form that delivered their two early-season victories and snap their current skid before hitting the road to face Gordon State on Saturday.
