USC Salkehatchie vs Caldwell Tech

(Interstat) — Preview: USC Salkehatchie at Caldwell Tech

A pair of surging men’s junior college basketball teams will meet Wednesday when the USC Salkehatchie Indians visit the Caldwell Tech Cobras.

The Indians (3-1) enter with momentum, having won their most recent contest 83-80 at East Georgia State on Dec. 3. That victory was part of a strong early season for USC Salkehatchie, which also includes a 103-98 home win over East Georgia State and a dramatic 134-127 double-overtime road victory against Polk State. Their lone blemish was a 115-72 loss at Daytona State.

Caldwell Tech (4-3) last played on Dec. 18, securing an 89-79 home win over Cleveland State. The Cobras have shown a potent offense at home, averaging 111.5 points in wins over Harford and Pellissippi State in late November. However, they have struggled on the road, dropping consecutive contests at Harcum and Chattanooga State in mid-December.

Wednesday’s matchup will feature contrasting styles. USC Salkehatchie has been involved in several high-scoring affairs, while Caldwell Tech will look to leverage its home-court advantage, where it is 3-1 this season.

The game is the first of a home-and-home series between the teams this season. They are scheduled to meet again at USC Salkehatchie on Feb. 21.

For the Indians, this begins a stretch of four consecutive road games. Following Wednesday’s contest, USC Salkehatchie will host Brunswick on Jan. 11 before returning to the road.

The Cobras will look to build a winning streak before hitting the road for a game at Wake Tech on Jan. 10. Caldwell Tech’s schedule also features a rematch with Cape Fear, split between home and away dates in January and February.

Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at Caldwell Tech’s home court.
