LA JUNTA, Colo. (Interstat) — The Otero College men’s basketball team earned its first victory of the season Monday night, defeating Western Wyoming Community College 74-59. The Rattlers, now 1-10, used a dominant first half, outscoring the Mustangs 42-33, to build an insurmountable lead. Western Wyoming, which fell to 2-9, could not close the gap after halftime as Otero maintained its double-digit advantage. Ray Gasaway led the Rattlers in the win. The Mustangs’ Kingsley Gyesi-Bisah was the top performer for the visitors. The outcome defied a pregame statistical projection that forecast a much closer contest.
