Cabrillo vs Feather River
Feather River Aims to Extend Win Streak Against Cabrillo at Classic
QUINCY, Calif. (Interstat) — The Feather River College men’s basketball team, riding a four-game winning streak, will look to continue its momentum when it hosts Cabrillo College in the Andrel Gaines Memorial Classic on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025.
The Golden Eagles (9-4) enter as heavy favorites, projected with a 79% probability to win according to Interstat’s ELO system. They are coming off an 84-81 road victory over Sacramento City on Dec. 13.
Feather River will lean on forward Damonte Duhart, who has recorded a double-double in three consecutive games. During the streak, Duhart averaged 17.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest, including a 21-point, 10-rebound performance in a win over Merritt.
The visiting Cabrillo Seahawks (6-5) seek to rebound from a 82-66 loss at Chabot on Dec. 12. Their season has been marked by inconsistency, alternating wins and losses over their past seven games. A bright spot was a 78-73 home victory over Butte on Dec. 6.
This non-conference matchup, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, pits two teams heading in opposite directions recently. Feather River’s offense has averaged 86.3 points during its four-game surge. Cabrillo, meanwhile, has struggled on the road, going 2-4 away from home, including the recent 20-point defeat at Chabot.
Key for the Seahawks will be containing Duhart and disrupting a Golden Eagles squad that has found its rhythm. Cabrillo’s ability to control the tempo and improve upon its recent defensive efforts will be critical to pulling an upset.
Following this contest, Feather River will travel to face West Valley and Chabot in early January. Cabrillo’s next game is at home against Skyline on Dec. 31.
Tip-off is set for Saturday at Feather River College.
